The 5 Golden FREE Time Rules of Internet Publishing
By Steve John Cowan
Getting your articles published for free in a directory such as this one is the accepted norm, as long as you are only thinking in terms of free meaning, no money spent.
But, what of your time?
Does your time have no value?
Your life, my life, is nothing but a bunch of time, seconds hours and minutes slowly and inexorably trickling away each and everyday. Without fail, days morph into weeks, and weeks into years, almost without us noticing. So, how can time have no value?
To my mind, time has the greatest value of all.
As far as I am concerned, something being free is therefore not only about costing no money.
It is also about making sure that the time I still have available on this earth is used in the most productive way possible, and that the percentage of my life that is spent doing, or more importantly, achieving nothing, is minimized.
In my book, productivity and profitability are extremely close cousins, and so how I can best use the few hours I have available every day is a major point of concern.
You should be thinking exactly the same way, if you want your business to succeed.
So, when you think about publishing for free, I urge you to think beyond the constraints of money spent, and consider your life, and what more free time could mean as a part of it!
That is exactly what my Golden Rules are here to help you do:
1.If you plan to write several articles based around a single topic or niche, keep the first article (or any article that proves to be especially popular) and break it down into 'segments', using separate paragraphs as your guide points. Use as many of those segments, after slightly re-wording them, as you can is subsequent articles on the same topic.
2.Time that is 'spent' properly is never wasted. So, spend time making sure that the information you give and the style of writing you plan to use in your resource box generates a 'killer' piece of content. Use and re-use the same resource box, with minimal changes, whenever and wherever you can. Not only does this save time, but is also has a viral element as well, as your resource box style will gradually become familiar to your readers (your resource box acts as a mini branding tool).
3.Dont make false economies with your time any more than you would with your cash! Once your article is finished, run it through a spell checker and then, read it again extremely thoroughly, looking out for the errors that a spell checker will almost always miss. For example, I want to write 'the hand that feeds you' but what I actually write is 'the hand hat feeds you'. My spell checker missed the dropped 't', because 'hat' is a proper word, spelled correctly. You must make sure that you dont make the same mistake!
4.Dont waste time with 'black hat' or underhand tactics when submitting articles to the directories. Nor should you just trot out the same old garbage as everybody else. Be honest, straightforward and original, and you should enjoy significant publishing success. Remember that the directories exist to publish articles like yours, but they are also aware that poor quality or duplicate content will not help them become popular.
5.Remember that technology is a means to an end, there to help you, and that using good software can generate great time savings, as well as significant increases in profits. For example, after using a program called Article Post Robot for 14 days recently on a free trial, I saw vastly increased success in my article submission rate and a noticeable boost in money earned from AdSense and affiliate programs as well. Not surprisingly, a program like this, that saves huge amounts of time and earns me a heap more money in the process, is one that I can see great value in, and I am certain that this would be true for anyone making money online from article publication. To get a clearer picture of exactly what I am talking about here, first, read a detailed review of Article Post Robot, and then try it for yourself with your own free trial run, from the link shown below.
So, next time, you think free, dont allow society and your everyday life as part of it, to blinker you to the true meaning of the phrase.
Money is here today, gone tomorrow, and then (hopefully) you get some more.
Time doesnt work that way. Time, once spent can never be gotten back again, so use it well.
